Built by Carafa. It is said to be the first windmill on Gozo, but perhaps Lascaris built one sooner ( ca 1650). In 1667 the mill was in a very bad condition and in 1781 the mill was sold and demolished. A new hospital was built on the spot. Between Victoria and Sannat was built a new windmill appr. 1783. ( see db 23).
