Built by Cotoner 1674, probably on the foundation of an old church. Cotoner was also the owner. In use till 1889. Later the mill became a blacksmith's forge till 1991. The mill has a round base, which is very unusally in Malta. In 1991 the mill is restored and rebuilt. The local council will preserve it, by using it for cultural and social activities. The mill was in a derelict state. The Ghadiriet il-Bordi windmill in Tal-Mirakli in Lija has been handed over from the Government to the Lija local council. The mill has become one of the venuse for Holy Week displays.
